Before running any new beta, clear out the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FTPEdit Software\FTPEdit\3.00\Menu or you will not see any new menu options.

July 15, 2002 - Recognize ASP tags but only highlight them as one big block. Added two more functions to allow scripts to read/write files.

July 14, 2002 - FTPEdit will now look for a file called Startup.vbs and try to execute it as a script upon startup. Added visual HTML tag matching so you can tell what tag ends/starts where. It's not enabled by default so go into Settings|Options to toggle it.

July 13, 2002 - documented script functionality as it stands right now. Added new "Assist In Closing HTML Tags" option. Give it a try and let me know how you like it. Removed dependancy on midas.dll (was causing issues on some systems), added fly-over hint for tabs so you can easily tell what file the tab represents.

July 4, 2002 - The first beta of 3.1.0 has been released. Changes off the top of my head include:

  • Scripting - still needs documentation and fleshing out, there are a couple of sample scripts linked to in the top right
  • Custom syntax highlighting - still needs documentation
  • Limit FTPEdit to a single instance
  • Dozens of small usability fixes (most noticable one: File|Open won't default to C/C++ every time now)
  • Several small bug fixes
As always, please report any bugs you may find and I will try to fix them as soon as possible.

July 4, 2002 - Are some tags missing from tag insight or some functions in PHP? Modify the files HTMLTags.txt and PHPFunctions.txt. If you think others might benefit from your changes, please do not hesitate to send the changes to me.

If you are willing to help beta test FTPEdit, please e-mail me to receive a download location for the latest beta. Your e-mail address is completely confidential and will never be published, sold, given away, or have it used for other sleazy activities; it is merely to keep the number of downloads from this site to a minimum and help increase the feedback I get.
